Hold the line. Push your luck. Call the evac.

Drop Squad: Last Evac is an idle defense roguelite. Your squad of armored marines drops onto a hostile world and holds the line against wave after wave of orc raiders. The marines fight on their own — your job is to make the calls that matter: who deploys, what they carry, when to fire their abilities and, after every wave, the big one:

Push deeper for more scrap — or call the Condor and get out alive?

Features

  • Continue or Extract. Every wave pays more than the last, but a squad wipe loses everything you earned on the run. And extraction is not free: your squad has to survive the next wave until the Condor touches down.
  • 8 marine roles — Commander, Tactical, Heavy, Assault, Juggernaut, Corpsman, Warpriest and Voidseer, each with a signature ability: grenades, suppressing fire, jump-pack strikes, healing pulses, battle hymns, void fog and more.
  • Five deployment slots. Your roster is bigger than your drop pod. Pick who goes, who stands in the front line and who sits this one out to heal.
  • Permanent perks. At levels 6, 12, 20 and 30 each marine picks one of two perks. Losing a veteran hurts.
  • Armory and Tech Tree. Spend scrap on new weapons, new roles, combat speed-ups and squad-wide upgrades.
  • Sector campaign. Five planets under growing orc pressure. Win to take back control and earn sector-wide bonuses — lose every world and the campaign is over.
  • Mission themes — Standard, Horde, Elite, Night and Deep (endless) — each with its own wave twists.
  • Orcs that fight differently: gunners that shoot from range, raiders that flank your back line, tinkers that buff their mob, brutes, and a Warchief whose RAAAGH sends the whole field into a frenzy. Watch out for champions.

Controls

Mouse only. Abilities fire from the ability bar; click an orc to focus fire; click a marine to change their targeting stance or recall them. Unlock x2 speed in the Tech Tree.

Very fun core loop.

Models could use tweaking. The art is very clearly AI generated, but it doesn’t look bad at all. The movement is what looks off. Perhaps instead of forcing the marines to run back and forth, they could be given a sort of teleport effect to traverse? They look really nice, and that running animation just sort of breaks their unmovable stoic look a bit. The enemies attacking the backline was a surprise, but makes for a good change of pace as opposed to the typical “all enemies come from one side” approach that other games like this tend to take. Maybe allowing them to flip direction faced as opposed to their guns rotating 180 degrees could help keep them looking sharper?

Aside from the animations, the weapons could also use some touching up. They just look too similar to really make it appear as though the marine equipped with it is actually playing that role I.E. The Heavy marine equipping the heavy mass gun, it just doesn’t look heavy enough, and as with the grenade launcher and plasma rifle, they just all look like slightly modified versions of the original base rifle. Aside from that I really like the specific classes being built out here, and I’m sure there are tons of directions you wish to take them. That’s exciting.

In the end, you’ve got a nice first build. The foundation is there, and I’m hoping you get to build what you imagine should rest on it.

Best of luck 👍

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback, really glad the core loop is playable for you! I will develop it further.

I agree that the animation sometimes looks funny and out of place. And the teleport solution is simple and elegant. I'll try it.

I've also taken note of the rotation and weapon changes. Thanks!
